Sports Clubs
KCS middle school community sports have several defining characteristics. These club sports are not officially sanctioned by Knox County Schools, and onsite principals are not involved in personnel decisions regarding coaches. KCS supplemental insurance is not provided for these activities, and they do not primarily or exclusively use school facilities. Community sports also do not have a faculty sponsor, and the schools are not liable for these programs. While these sports compete under the school name, all Karns Middle School activities that are not listed as recognized Knox County sports or club sports are considered community sports.
